Myrthe Jongsma was awarded the Young-Initiative on Crohn and Colitis (ICC) research prize 2023 for her and her teams’ work as published in the Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis: “Serum Immune Profiling in Paediatric Crohn’s Disease Demonstrates Stronger Immune Modulation With First-Line Infliximab Than Conventional Therapy and Pre-Treatment Profiles Predict Clinical Response to Both Treatments”

Thesis award for Linda Joosse

During the Biomedical Science PhD Day 2022, held on the 2nd of June in the Doelen, Rotterdam, Linda Joosse received the Thesis award 2020. Although, she had to wait two years before the award could be handed to her, she still was very happy with it, as the picture clearly shows.

Paper Sandrine Nugteren accepted for publication

Recently, Sandrine Nugteren’s paper, titled “Expression of the immune modulator secretory leukocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI) in colorectal cancer liver metastases and matched primary tumors is associated with a poorer prognosis”, has accepted for publication in OncoImmunology. This is Sandrine’s first paper. Hopefully, there are many more to come.

On Wednesday, November 6 2019, Linda Joosse defended her thesis “A Dynamic Balance: Regulatory and inflammatory T-cell responses in inflammatory bowel disease”, cum laude (with honors). We are all very proud of Linda’s achievements in our laboratory. We wish her lot of success during her training to become an specialist for internal diseases.
